Casin’Anand: A Wellness Retreat and Luxury Estate Near Lecce, Salento

Written by:

Deep in the Salento countryside, just a few minutes from the gates of Lecce, something new has been born — or perhaps, something ancient has simply been remembered.

Casin’Anand. The name comes from Sanskrit: Anand means joy. And it is joy, in its most grounded and luminous form, that this place is built upon. A six-hectare green retreat devoted to slow living, to harmony, and to the quiet work of bringing body, mind and spirit back into balance.

This is not simply a place to stay. It is a place to arrive at.

Peace, beauty and wellbeing intertwine here in a way that feels effortless — because the estate was designed with that intention from the very beginning. Every day can be unique and full, thanks to a rich palette of experiences that awaken all the senses. The surrounding landscape — ancient dry-stone walls, century-old olive groves, the stillness of the Salento plain — does the rest.

The heart of the project is the Casina, the main house. Around it, the estate unfolds in a series of thematic gardens and working agricultural spaces: olive groves, orchards, beehives and a synergistic kitchen garden. Wander further and you will find the swimming pool, the spa and wellness area, a Japanese garden, a fragrant Mediterranean grove, a herb garden, a labyrinth, and a brasero corner for evenings under the stars. Every corner has been conceived as an invitation to pause.

Casin’Anand also opens its doors to fellow travellers on the path. Consuelo Verde — known by her Kundalini name, Tarandev Kaur — is a certified Kundalini yoga teacher who has created this estate as a home for the practice she loves, and as a welcoming space for other yoga and holistic teachers wishing to host their retreats here. Artists, too, are warmly invited: if you work in any creative discipline and feel the call of this place, Consuelo would be delighted to host your creative residency or retreat.

The location is quietly strategic. Close to Lecce — one of the most beautiful Baroque cities in Italy — and positioned almost exactly between the Adriatic and Ionian coasts, Casin’Anand sits at the meeting point of many kinds of travel. Those seeking pure rest will find it. Those drawn to personal growth, to yoga, to art, to the rhythms of the natural world — they will find that too. And those who simply want to eat well, sleep deeply and remember what silence sounds like will not be disappointed.

Here, time slows. The eternal present opens up. And in that opening, something simple but profound becomes possible: the willingness to surrender to the beauty of what is.

I am deeply honoured to share this place with you — and I look forward to showing you, week by week, the many different facets of what we have created here.

May the Sun always shine on you.

With love,
Consuelo Tarandev
